On behalf of the City of Sturgis, we invite you to be a part of our great event during the 77th Annual Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™, August 4 – August 13, 2017. We are proud of the growth of the rally over the last 76 years and recognize that this would not have been possible without the vast array of vendors that help us welcome 400,000+ visitors each year!
To be a vendor you will need to follow a few simple steps. First you need to acquire your vending location. Once you have a vending address, you will contact the SD Department of Revenue to apply for your sales tax license. The Department of Revenue begins taking early applications from April 1 – July 1. You must purchase a vending license from the City of Sturgis for every location you have. To make things simple, you can purchase your license electronically; allowing you to print it off, and avoid the long lines. Any other fees you may incur through your landowner or property manager are NOT required by the City of Sturgis.
For your convenience, we provide a General Vendor Manual which explains each step in more detail and provide additional helpful information. Please note that there are various manuals for the different types of vendors. (Food, Tattoo/Piercing & Raffles have additional requirements)
